| 内容記述 | Regular temperaments are tuning systems in which the intervals of fifths are consistent. For example, the Pythagorean tuning, the meantone temperament and the 12-tone equal temperament are regular, but the just intonation is not regular. In this paper, we investigate regular temperaments using mathematical methods. First, we give a mathematical axioms for temperaments. Next, we define regular and equal temperaments, and show the conditions under which a regular temperament is an equal one. Conversely, we also show the conditions under which n-tone equal temperament is a regular one. | |||||||||
