| 内容記述 | 最低賃金は，低賃金労働者の所得保障，経済格差の縮小など所得分配の公平を主な目的として存在する制度だが，最近，経済全体の生産性との関係が盛んに議論されている．本稿は，関連する内外の研究をサーベイするとともに，日本企業のパネルデータ（2001〜2018年）を使用し，最低賃金引上げが生産性に及ぼす効果についてのエビデンスを提示する．固定効果推計及び操作変数推計の結果によれば，日本においてこれまでの最低賃金引き上げが企業の生産性を高めたという証拠は確認されない． | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The main objectives of a minimum wage are to reduce economic inequality and ensure that low-wage workers have appropriate earnings. However, there is ongoing debate on whether minimum wages improve productivity. This study surveys the literature related to the impact of minimum wages on productivity and presents evidence on the relationship between minimum wages and productivity using the panel data of Japanese firms for the years 2001―2018. Fixed-effects and instrumental variable estimations are used. The estimation results do not indicate that an increase in minimum wages improves productivity in Japan. | |||||||||
