| 内容記述 | This paper considers contradictions in music theory, especially interval theory, from the perspective of temperament theory. The theory of intervals is based on the Pythagorean tuning, but is often explained using the theory of equal temperament. However, this contradiction is essentially caused by the conflict between Pythagorean tuning and equal temperament. In terms of temperament theory, Pythagorean tuning is generated with two intervals（ i. e., whole tone and semitone）, whereas equal temperament is generated with one interval（ i. e. semitone）. Therefore, it is actually impossible to explain Pythagorean tuning using the theory of equal temperament. In this paper, we clarify these problems, and construct a theory that does not depend on particular temperament. | |||||||||
