| 内容記述 | 本稿では，中国屈指の工業地帯である江蘇省を対象として，地域間に見られる経済格差の生成メカニズムに実証的な光を当てた．人民公社の時代から引き継がれている戸籍制度が，格差の原因であるという通説に対し，本稿ではそれ以外に，3つの要因の関与を指摘した．第一に，財政資金の地域間調整を阻害している分権的な財政制度，第二に，貧困地域の郷鎮企業に顕著に見られる資源分配の非効率性，第三に，企業集積にもとづく外部経済であるが，社会主義体制の制度的遺産がこれらに通底していると考えられる． | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The major objective of this paper is to shed some light on the mechanism that generates interregional imbalances among communities in rural China. Central to this issue is the development of township and village enterprises (TVEs) because their presence is closely associated with the economic welfare of the people residing in rural communities. The spatial disparities are attributed to a variety of factors, including the less efficient use of TVE resources in poor areas, the decentralized fiscal system, and agglomeration economies. In short, the socialist regime of self-reliance that still lingers in China's rural society traps less advanced areas in poverty. | |||||||||
